Day Four, Friday

We start off the day as usual..............fire up the Generator and cook breakfast, have a chat with the neighbors and make sure we have everything ready...........cameras, passes etc.

We head out to catch the BUS up the hill!  We find there is quite a line of people already.  The first bus arrives and is filled very quickly.  We have to wait for the next one.  We successfully get on that bus, which is going the opposite way, to what we want to go, but find out it has to make the rounds of the camp sites and then goes out to the main entrance and up the hill. (We figure it would have been quicker to have walked)  But were still happy we didn't. :)

The bus drops us off at turn 5.  Right where it says "Bus stop" on the map. :)   We enter at the factory stands and take a wonder around looking for coffee. Gotta start the day off right!

We then head to the paddock again.  There is a lot more action in the paddock today and not much chance to talk to anyone or see much as they were all getting ready for their practice sessions.  So we decide to wonder around the track and take what pictures we could from various points around the track.

Of course some of the pictures are not very good as I'm still trying to learn how to use the New camera, but at least you'll get the idea.

Turn 2 John Hopkins (the opening picture through the fence) followed by a very blurry Bayliss  Moving over the other side of the infield to a hole in the fence between turns 4 and 5, I tried holding the camera still and catching the bikes in the hole. :)  Not easy I might add.  See what you think. Marco, I think number 27   Best guess Barros   Umm! Fortuna team...  and Max ....just!    And coming out of 4 looking over the fence Tamada   I did actually take a video through the fence but I can't figure out how to get it to work here.  Maybe later.

Moving on around the track to turn 5.  I wanted some different shots of the rear of the bikes as they go around 5 away from me and up the hill towards the corkscrew.

Still not very good though. I would love to have been able to get where that photographer is on the other side there.  It's even worse through the fence.   This next shot is from the outside of turn 5, full zoom up the hill to turn 6   We decided to keep moving around the track and I took a couple looking back at turn 5 from outside the fence of course. Still not the best they could be. Colin Alex Ruben and the US favorite Nicky   I do believe I have some of Saturdays pictures here.  But it doesn't really matter.

We went back to the paddock and had some of the wondrous food that was being served along with some great drinks.  I think it was supposed to be coffee, it was very tasty though.  After food it was time for souvenirs, you know, T-shirts, hats programs etc.  Before heading back for the Bus to take us back to camp.

The Busses were packed and there was a long line of people waiting, so Dave decides he is going to walk back to the RV.  I'm too lazy, even if it is down hill.

I finally caught a bus which passed Dave about 100 yards from the Camp site.

More loud crappy and good music into the night from the neighbors.  But I'm tired.  Have a couple of drinks and off to bed.

Back to Day 3

Day 5 continues......
