The Daily Gripe!

9/17/06

Being the opinionated person that I am; I know you didn't think I was like that. :)  I decided that I would share some of them with you, more for fun than anything else, and usually on a daily basis.  Hence "The Daily Gripe".  I have also set up an email account dailygripe@macsmodeling.com especially for anyone to send their "Gripe" to me, and I will put it up along with your name, unless you want to be anonymous.

Although the site is limited to F1 models the "Daily Gripe" is open to everything in the World.

Today's gripe:   Shoppers and Shopping Carts

What is so hard about putting shopping carts in their designated area once you have unloaded them into you vehicle?

We see it all the time!  My personal favorite; the person has their cart loaded to the brim.  They have their Suburban or Excursion parked right next to the cart area. They load everything in the back, pushing and shoving, then finally get the rear doors closed.  At this point there are two choices.......the cart area is on the left hand side of the vehicle and a car is on the Right.  It seems far too difficult to take the cart and put it in the "Cart Corral" to the left, so they wheel it to the right of the car, between theirs and the car, hitting the car in the process and placing it at the front of the vehicle between 4 cars!

What are they thinking about!  Are they completely unaware the cart corral is there!?!

Then there is the other one that pulls in to the Parking lot and bitches about people that leave their carts in the middle of it.  And very cleverly take the one closest to their vehicle.  What do they do with the cart when they are done?  Put it back where they found it.................in the middle of the parking lot!  Wise people these. NOT!

It really does get my goat though.  On windy days these same people can be seen trying to position the empty cart up against the bumper of another car so it won't blow through the parking lot.....................they are 20 yards, maximum, from a Cart Corral............but they would rather spend 5 minutes trying to balance the cart precariously, than walk the 20 yards, and be done in 2 minutes (that's my walking speed) :)

Or on an inclined parking lot, they try for ages to get the wheels (or wheel) to sit in a crack in the black-top so it won't roll away.  The worst ones then touch it with their vehicle as they pull out, completely unaware the cart is now on the move, looking for an unsuspecting car door!

Yet these people will be the first to complain when a cart runs into their vehicle leaving a nice dent.  It will still not make them put the cart in the corral, why?  Because they have a dent, so everyone should!

Absolutely Crazy!!!

I don't think it will ever stop.  And have you ever pointed out to these people the effects of loose shopping carts or pointing to where they should take them.  They look at you as if you called them UGLY or IDIOT! which I sometimes do after a look like that with a few other colorful words. :)  Makes me feel better when I do though. :)

In Canada you have to insert a Dollar coin to use a cart, which you get back when you return the cart to the correct place.  Great idea!
