B model Works B2002
RB7
Mac's Review 1/28/12:
First impression on opening the box......not enough protection. (Seems to be
the way with all companies these days.)
The resin casting on the body is good, not as good as Studio 27, but almost. Not
quite as good for defined panel lines as with the DTM kit. Resin work is as good
as DTM.
With minor clean up of the resin body and floor, it looks like a great fit.
They do include some great resin parts, in particular, wing end plates and
elements. (See images below) Very thin and great detail. Not too many
white metal parts, which I personally like.
Nice set of Photo etch parts. I prefer the way they have the fin (no matter
what size, on all the kits) as a separate PE part to be glued in a slot with
two pins to locate it in the correct position.
I also like the way they produce the wheel centers to get the little aero
circles in them. (You can see that better on the Ferrari kit
B2001 page.)
Decals.....you want decals, we got decals......7 sheets in all. Plenty of
variety of pattern as well. Still no company has produced the extra large square
carbon decals which are used on the floor areas in particular. I know they are
more subtle these days, but it can definitely be seen on the actual cars. So
that is a disappointment.
Overall, I think it is a good kit for the money these days.
